Gettin screwed by Corporate America on Propane

One of my main backups for cooking is my grill,so I depend on propane storage. I usually just drop in to Home depot & trade out the empty cylinder for a full one & I am on my way.Well today I read in a national paper where the company that provides the propane is only putting in 15 lbs in a twenty lb tank. That means for every 4 tanks They are screwing me out of 1 whole tank. WTF !!! The article stated that when gas was high last year they started this practice so they would not have to go up on the price.Well I wonder why they did not inform the public at the time that they were doing this, not to mention that when the price fell they continued to short every body on the fuel instead of giving you what you thought you were paying for. The only way you can get your money's worth is to go where you can watch the SOB's weigh it out on a scale. Well I for one will be sure to go to one of the mom & pop stores & give them the business. It might take more time but I will be putting money in the little mans pocket & getting what I pay for.
Also only a week left till the official start of Hurricane season so get your act together preppers .................................

Gettin closer everyday

Just another couple of weeks and Hurricane season will officially be under way. Most preps should be in place.I am in pretty good shape with only a few small things left on the list.
My target of rabbits in the freezer (50) is met as of the ones I have in hand with 2 more litters due within a week.

the garden is doing fantastic!! Everything is taking off like crazy the Tomato
Bed is awesome. Once these plants start producing I will have way more than I know what to do with them. Looks like canning is in the future. The Bell peppers are looking great, cucumbers need to be picked ,Onions are running wild, potatoes & egg plant are healthy.

One only needs to look at what's happing right know up north. MM paints writes that they had a storm with 155mph winds decimate the area and no news reports. No reports no help. WTF!!! you are on your own,be there or be square,I won't get caught with my guard down again. Our prayers go out to our neighbors up north for a quick recovery

1 Month to go & a prep drill

Well 1 month to go until Hurricane season & Time is getting short to be prepped for the summer.I had a little test today,I was in the Den reading and suddenly BOOM I heard the fuses blow on the transformer down the road,Lights out ,Total darkness & Quiet. I grabbed my Flashlight & rolled out the genset . Hooked up the power cord in the main panel, Tried to start it up and nothing, after about 10 minutes I sat down, Damm I'm supposed to be ready. Took off the air filter ,gave it a shot of starter fluid & it took off. It's been a couple of months since I ran it.Guess I deserve it for not running it once a month for at least 10 minutes. Transferred power & everything was on line. As I checked around the neighbor hood I noticed only 1 neighbor with a generator running. The other dozen or so houses were dead quiet & dark. It was a muggy night and no need to be uncomfortable. Cooked me a couple of Hot Dogs on the grill & chilled out watching the evening news. When the power came back on The neighborhood came alive again.
so Lesson learned ,be vigilant about maintenance of equipment & be ready for problems that Will occur . Also I am clearly aware that my neighbors don't have their act together & will be a problem if they stay behind for a storm. Hopefully ALL the people in this area will get the hell out if a storm is eminent or they are going to be in a world of discomfort.
GET READY IT'S JUST AROUND THE CORNER.....................Prep on............
