Survival Garden Update

Well we have been busy so we haven't gotten as much done as we would have liked. Wound up having to make another trip for top soil, another 40 bags.Bayougal thinks she has all she needs & we will finish spreading the mud ,stuffing in some fish heads & start planting Tomorrow!!!
After all that labor I still had to cook & tend to the rabbits so I thought I would break-in the new Grill.Grilled some sausage & Wabbit. Saving the rabbit for tomorrow's lunch but I must say it came out nice & Juicy,Till next time........

Sunday, March 8, 2009

Well I spent the weekend working around the house, The Little woman & I fenced off a area to plant this years veggies in. This is the first time we are being so serious about it. I usually just watched her work in her garden around the house & figured that it would keep her busy & take her mind off of what I was getting into. This year we are serious as a heart attack. In years past the animals were tearing up her plant & veggies & she would do what she could to get by.But now that we are thinking that this could be the ONLY thing we have to eat at some point we are kickin ass.Bayou gal will have this place set up in a week -10days & we should be fine. If I could figure out how to post a pic I would but that's for another day,too much work to get done to be fiddling with this thing.Till next time.........Prep on

3 months to get ready

Well it's getting to be that time of year,3months till Hurricane season.I've been going over my checklist & checking the supplies to see what I need, adding a few things to the Preps to renew what we took out over the winter ,new additions, building up the battery stash .WHAT? YOU DON'T have a list??? I've found that you can not possibly remember everything with a list so if you don't have one you better get with it man!!! Start with the essentials and work up from there. Go to the Fema web site(he he ) & download a prep list and add what you personally would feel comfortable with.Remember that you could be without services for 30 days or more & once your in the middle of the situation you have no one to blame but yourself. Start early (NOW) so you won't be running around at the last minute.Don't forget to get any meds you have to have.Well I gotta get to work so till next time.............Later
